We have successfully completed our $2.00 billing tests with select pilot participants. We have also successfully tested the self sign-up web-pages for mobile users.
Beginning May 1st, people in the downtown Manchester, Ann Arbor and Saline areas currently covered by our radio deployments will be able to sign-up for Wireless Washtenaw. Anybody in those areas can acquire a Wireless Washtenaw account by simply selecting the 2020WWRoam SSID, opening a browser and following the simple instructions on the page. Customers will be able to select from three services:
- 84kbps ‘Open Access’ service,
- 500kbps $35/month ‘Value’ service
- 1.2mbps $50/month Pro service.
Still in development and soon to be completed are the Daily and Weekly Internet service offerings.
For a full list of Wireless Washtenaw offerings and current Internet service locations, please follow these links to visit our ‘Rate Plans and Pricing’ page on our Wireless Washtenaw website.
We are also ready to start adding new customers homes and businesses in the currently serviced areas. This will require the purchase and installation of a CPE. We will begin contacting those residents currently registered with us for service when it becomes available in their area.
Lastly, Beginning May 1st we will be contacting current pilot participants to walk them through the billing process and (more importantly) personally thank them for their participation and assistance in making this pilot successful.
Next week I’ll resume the discussion on network expansion.
20/20 Communications was selected by Washtenaw County to provide county wide Wireless Internet access.
There are four (4) phases to Wireless Washtenaw:
- Pilot
- Pre-deployment
- Deployment
- Customer acquisition and retention.
The phases will begin to overlap as portions of them are completed throughout the county.
If you have questions or would like to register for the service when it’s in your area, visit our Wireless Washtenaw website www.2020comm.com
