New Access Points
We have secured one of the new sites in the Pleasant Lake area today (Wednesday). Tomorrow we will conduct the area survey as well as order the equipment and electrical necessary for the access point build.
We’ve also ordered and are in the process of installing additional T1 lines to the Manchester water tower. These new lines will increase the capacity to handle the additional Manchester Village and Pleasant Lake participants chomping at the bit to get on the net.
Next, we are in final negotiations with CPE vendors and will soon be able to provide an actual cost of CPE equipment and installation per household or business.
Lastly (for today), we are in late stage negotiations with eleven (11) other sites throughout the county. We are also in negotiations with DTE (ITC) for access to their large network of towers that snake through the entire county.
20/20 Communications was selected by Washtenaw County to provide county wide Wireless Internet access.
There are four (4) phases to Wireless Washtenaw:
- Pilot
- Pre-deployment
- Deployment
- Customer acquisition and retention.
The phases will begin to overlap as portions of them are completed throughout the county.
If you have questions or would like to register for the service when it’s in your area, visit our Wireless Washtenaw website at http://www.2020comm.com/ww
